That is terrible. I hope you will talk to the seller about proper management and care of both birds and other animals. I don't know how involved you want to be in this. If you're willing to invest some time, you should stop by her property yourself to talk to her, and maybe get a look around. If you don't want to get too involved, it would be nice if you could still call animal welfare or even the local game warden to do a check on her property. She could be selling to other people, and I feel terrible for all her animals anyway.

I don't think I will be dropping by any time soon, but I have spent literally hours trying to guide and educate her on basic husbandry, including how to get a successful hatch and how to treat lice and mites, and this upper respiratory thing, including what medications to get, etc. I don't think she means any harm, and is just ignorant, but I have to consider that I am fairly certain she has told me some whoppers too, because I don't for a minute believe the stories she told me about why she couldn't deliver my birds.

I mean, I already feel that no one on the planet would have received these chicks and not only kept their cool but spent the next few hours trying to educate her without blaming her.

Today's update is no real change in anyone except the half dead chick, who I found having a seizure this am. It was in a miserable pile by the water dish, soaking wet. I dried and warmed it, but left it alone to do whatever it did. It seems to have recovered, but now I am wondering if it has been having seizures right along, which is why it hasn't really been improving like the others. When it got here, it seemed to have a mild case of wry neck too, which I treated with vitamins, and it seemed to stop, but maybe not.
