Sick chicks- UPDATE

The chicks seem to be doing better after I gave them sugar water and electrolytes. My guess is something with the genetics or the shipping. Thanks everyone for your advice

Are the chicks able to move in and out of heat freely? Do they have access to food and water at all times? Are there signs of illness before they die? How old are they?

Yes they are I’ll send a picture of the brooder. Yes they have access to food and water 24/7. Yes they start acting very lethargic and not moving much or eating much. They are 1 week old.

No but I’m getting one. I gave them some sugar water. Seemed to boost her a little bit but not much change

The chicks are separated. One heat lamp is for one side of chicks

Get any thermometer even the cooking kind and place it in the brooder floor, check it every 15 minutes to adjust the height of the lamp.

Place one lamp on your divider and check temperature.

Yes that’s what I’ll be getting today. I’ll post again when I get it so people can further help me understand the issue
