Sick duck need advice liver toxicity

Good to know! Thank you. He is doing remarkably well... He's back with his buddies today. There is a shift in the pecking order, as he was top duck before he fell ill. I cannot wait for them to work this out, because they are loud today!

Update. Pio has liver issues that why all the problems weak not eating and nothing really was working. I got Lilly of the dessert aloe detox started that yesterday. Still force feeding him a mix of fruits veggies in a sluggish. How much of the detox aloe can I give her?

Hi, is Pio on antibiotics? sometimes that can cause liver toxicity.

I don't know how much of the aloe to give....

Fatty Liver Hemorrhagic Disease (Hepatic Disease)...can be caused by vitamin dficiency (calcium), malnutrition ... high estrogen levels, medications like Metacam and Rimadyl, metal toxicity and poisoning. Can also be the result of genetic predisposition and old age.

Liver disease is confirmed by blood work and x-rays. While there's no cure, if discovred in early stages, your vet will examine the particulars of your duck's diet and likely advise a few changes to help kep them going for as long as possible. This dietary stratgy may include: increased carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and minerals (especially B complex) and decreased fat and protein levels.
