Sick duckling, please help!

TMarie, we do need to be aware of salmonella. The CDC must publish the most conservative guidelines or risk lawsuits, in my opinion.

Here on the forum, we are a bunch of duck raisers sharing our stories and ideas. It's up to each of us to sort it out.

So if I had a wee one, I would supervise closely, wash thoroughly, and feed my babies - human and feathered - the healthiest food I could, give them fresh air, sunshine (as available), exercise and loads of love. Oh, and nothing, also in my opinion, smells better than a clean duck or duckling.

Again, you need to be comfortable. People can pick up germs from animals. And vice versa.

Just keep your brood area clean you should be fine I have a total of 20 ducks different ages all raised by us I have 4 kids/teens no prob with salmonella we use Clorox wipes when brooding babies to wipe our hands after handling, Also once a day while ducklings swim in our tub my daughter watches them I do a break down in their tote all bedding removed I spray with mild antibacterial cleaner rinse then dry add fresh bedding this is in addition to their other clean out times but breaking it down once a day helps keep them and you cleaner and i clean their feed and water containers each morning w/ dawn antibacterial soap. I am a clean nut seriously OCD lol but we are all healthy and happy and i enjoy their messes especially after i clean them out and I add fresh shavings they go nuts I hope your little pulls threw.
