My pretty EE chick (5 days old) has seemed totally fine up til today. Today I went out and she was just laying there on her side... eyes closed. I brought her in, checked her vent, clear, no poopy... and figured she might have not gotten to eat (pecking order) so I gave her some mashed up feed/yogurt/eggyolk and sugar water... it didn't help. Tonight i went to check her before I went to bed, and she is the same, so I picked her up and there was a woodchip stuck to her butt... so I took it off, and got some wet paper towel (warm) and washed her bum, just in case.. but then noticed that there is a wierd thing hanging off her stomach... like a dried up poop... only off the middle of her belly.. and her stomach is big and hard feeling... and she was sort of throwing up clear thick mucus... what do you think?
this morning she was dead.
