SICK GOOSE!! fAST HELP PLEASE!!

As I was reading through this thread, I kept thinking "broody"

I have been recently researching broodiness in hens as I think my RIR may be going broody on me. It has been said that when they go broody they may even stop eating, drinking and become quite lethargic. The fact that she got "mouthy" after you removed her from the nest with eggs only reinforces it.

Have you switched the feed yet? I'm watching this thread to see how she improves when you go back to her old feed. GOOD LUCK!

my knowledge of broody geese..they wont let you within 3 foot of their nest! they certainly wouldnt let you touch them; one of my broody geese nearly broke my arm attacking me when i went to get eggs! she would be hissing warnings at you and reaching out to bite you......

i would keep a good eye on her....give her lots of high protein food for energy (scrambled eggs) electrolytes in the water maybe some vitamins. is it possible shes ate something rotten or gotten into some poisonous plants?

Give her gatorade and peanut butter bread. The peanut butter bread will bind with any thing like metal bits in her guts. Use the sodium free kind. She does sound broody though. Mine will lay on the nest with their necks stretched out, they get disgustingy dirty, feet bleach out from lack of sunshine and the feathers look awful. After the hatch they molt out and are normal again.

How is her breathing? Shallow? Rapid? Is her beak it's normal color?

Thanks so much to all who replied.

Update:

I tried yesterday to pick Mouthy up & check her again. Well she lived up to her name & honked my eardrums out. She definitely was not going to let me pick her up without taking my arm off or worse. She almost bit me in the nose. She wouldn't get off those eggs but her neck stretched to 3 times it's natural length & in angle I didn't know possible. That neck & jaws were moving FAST!! Then, my other goose(Gabby) decided to help her out with a sneak attack from behind. I barely escaped with the seat of my pants intact. I decided that I liked my body parts to stay attached to my body & gave up.

Anyhow, I'm beginning to feel that she is just broody. I did change her food back to her normal feed but she still not eating..She just pushed the food away from her with her beak.
Well eventually I'll have to risk life & limbs to get those eggs. I know they are not fertile unless Gabby had a sex change.lol.

Again, thanks for all the replies & I'll keep everybody posted more if I still have fingers to type with.

Hope everything is going well with Mouthy and that you still have all your parts in the right places!
