Sick hamburg pullet - coryza and something else?

Hi, I’m a new backyard chicken owner in Australia. We started with a couple of young layers in August last year and grew the flock with 10 new chicks and pullets in November-December.

I have a silver pencilled Hamburg pullet, Angelica, around 20 weeks old, who had Coryza in December soon after she arrived. I treated it with OxyMav-B and then Triple C antibiotic and it seemed to get better. None of the other birds caught it.

Last week she moved into a new coop and run with her bestie and within two days she came down with the runny nose and swollen eyes again, so she came into sick bay iso and back on the tetracycline. She’s getting sicker and sicker though, so I’m looking at other causes, although she still does have a slight runny nose and her eyes are often closed.

She drinks only when i give water/meds by hand and has stopped eating unless i hand feed her (yoghurt, plain rice, egg, a little wet feed) She’s on Barastoc pullet grower feed which she was initially happy to eat as a wet mash but has now stopped eating.

I started the torpedo method today because she is losing weight rapidly and has trouble holding her head up when sleeping or resting. The torpedoed feed goes straight through her almost undigested. Photos of sick poop attached.

She was wormed when she arrived in December with Killverm. No sign of worms that I know of although maybe more experienced owners can see something?

I’ve had problems with coccidiosis in my layers due to crows and wild birds hanging around the coops. I have several prefab coops in a large run, two or three birds per coop, with ventilation panels added via hole saw, and the two layers free range most of the day. The younger birds spend much of the day on grass and dirt in wire pet enclosures so they can dust bathe and dig while the hens get used to them. I have bought netting to cover the entire run but haven’t had the manpower to put it up yet. (I tried on my own last week and almost dropped a heavy support pole on my 8yo!)

One of the 13 week old chicks had coccidiosis recently when she moved outside, and it was treated successfully with amprolium (Cocciprol.) At that time I preemptively treated the whole flock due to the crow problem. I don’t think I treated Angelica and her bestie though as they weren’t going out to the chook yard yet. I don’t see any blood in her poop but is it worth treating for it anyway, since she just moved into the chook yard, and if so would it clash with the coryza meds?

It’s possible that she has a crop issue as well as the coryza I guess, her drinks do gurgle a lot when going down, and her crop is very noisy. It’s empty in the morning. No smell (not even the telltale coryza odour which is odd). She gapes a bit after food.

She feels super skinny and I fear I’ll lose her if I don’t find out and treat whatever’s causing this diarrhea. Please help if you can.

Disappointed: I went through that whole darn list from the pinned thread to make sure i provided all the information that was asked for. Not one reply. People post HELP! without bothering to address the questions, and get instant assistance. 🙃

OxyMav-B is powdered oxytetracycline, yes? How are you giving it?
Thankyou 🙏 Yes, but it’s not sold nearby so this time around. I’m using powdered Triple C now which is chlortetracycline. Following the dosage on the jar, she isn’t touching her waterer but will drink it from an egg cup, I haven’t tried any kind of drench as I’m not sure that’s indicated for antibiotics. Pic of directions - it’s been 7 days now.

If she's been getting enough of that for 7 days, then it probably isn't going to work. How much does she weigh?

Then how much water does she get?
Only about 100-150mls a day with the meds in it, given by hand or syringe at hourly intervals. Re: her weight, I have no scales I’m sorry, I will get some today. She’s noticeably stopped growing (i put her outside in the sun with her bestie yesterday with a wire fence and an air gap in between, just so they don’t forget each other, and for her spirits… the other pullet is at least a third bigger in size now after one week apart.)
