so this morning we went out to the coop and found our standard light brahma (4 years old) laying inside the coop. we thought she was dead and went over to her. her eyes were closed and she was laying on her side the only indickation that she was alive was her breathing. we thought she old had a little bit left so we kept her in the coop so she could at least hear her buddies for her last few minutes (the others were ingnoring her) we went to the poultry show we had signed up for and we just got back at 5pm but shes still alive and in the same spot we left her shes limp and wont open her eyes! what should we do shes a pet and we love her. it was a tough morning for all of us please help!!!!!

thanks i just dont know what to do

I'm so sorry! If you give her a little water on the tip of her beak, will she drink for you? She'll need water. Does she feel light? Maybe this has been going on for a bit and you know how birds mask their illness. I hope the experts will be able to help. Maybe a stroke? Can they have such things?
Hugs from NJ XOXOXO

i tried water and she didnt drink it. but feeling her, her crop is enlarged and shes pretty thin, and ive been touching her toes and what not to see if she'll move them and she didnt move them tell now when i was touching her toe she moved her foot idk if its a sign she getting better but its something

Thinner than normal? Crop impaction-fibrous stuff won't empty out and it get's stuck. So she would not be able to eat, get thin. I had an impacted crop on one, it felt like putty. Mineral oil and gentle massage did it, but your sweetie won't drink. Has she opened her eyes for you yet?
