If someone with experience could chime in I am a relatively new chicken owner and one of my three hens is ill :( I have noticed her seeming a tad lethargic last couple days. Although she did come out of coop and free range just a lot slower and sat around alot. She also seemed fluffed up and ruffled?? I noticed last night she was not on roost but laying on coop floor when I locked up for the night. This am she will not come out of her coop. She isnt eating (I tried some things) and doesnt seem to really be drinking. She has a runny yellow looking poop on her behind. I looked to see if she was egg bound but she is not. I also felt her crop and it seems full and spongy or squishy? No visible injuries of any kind? Does anyone have any suggesttions or ideas? Ugh I get so attached to these birds :( Thank you

I'm not sure. I got her about a year ago and she was said to be an adult at that time. I am guessing 3-4?

I am in northern california and very sad to report she is gone :( I got home from work and she had deteriorated ALOT she had her head just flopped down onto ground and could barely lift it. Her eyes were closed. When I touched her she opened them and them just shut them again and put her head back down. She was breathing still altho she appeared dead but the breathing was very shallow. I had my dad come to put her out of her misery and when he picked her up and carried her and head dropped down he said yellow fluid came out of her mouth???? I am so sad to lose her. I am so attached to my birds :( Does any of this elude to what it might of been??

Thank you I will get some tomorrow. I also have never wormed them. I have read here that it is necessary and never knew that before. Can you advise the easiest way to do so and best product?
