Sick Hen!!!!!! Please Help!!!!!!!!

Hi @4 Georgia Hens I'm sorry you're girl is not doing well.

Did the vet take an x-ray?
Is there any notable swelling/bloat or feeling of fluid in the abdomen?

Having an egg lodged between the legs? This sounds like an internal laying/reproductive disorder - anytime there is an egg "stuck" that is not good. You can try soaking her in a warm epsom salts bath to see if this will help get things moving. Provide her with vitamins in her water and see that she is drinking well. Make sure she has a source of calcium (oyster shell freed choice). Watch to see that her crop is emptying overnight.

Let us know how she is doing.
The vet did not take an x-ray because the egg isnt stuck between the legs, it is just sliding back and forth in that area. I am feeding her layer food right now. The vet said epsom salts were not necessary. Her crop does empty.

Interesting.
Sounds like she is having trouble expelling the egg from the oviduct - provide her with some poultry vitamins - you can direct dose her with something like Nutri-Drench or Poultry Cell. She may need calcium to help with contractions to push the egg out, so it wouldn't hurt to give her one dose of calcium as well.

I hope all goes fine with her, keep us posted.

I don't have any chicken vitamins. I'm not in a place to go and get some either. Is there another alternative?

this is good news if she is gonna lay her first egg , I suspected this actually but you never know ofcourse ! how is she doing ?

do you have any room where you can get the temperature very high or do you own an old glass box / aquarium ????
Best thing to do if the egg is not coming now is to put her straight in an area where she has a high humidity with a high temp ( think about 37-38° Celsius ! ) no need to make a nesting area but just make it a bit comfortable so she would lay , you can do this perfectly if you have an old aquarium or so , take some wire for the bottom and put a waterheater in it or any other that heats up but does not burn ! she is not allowed to sit on pineshavings or any other in this case as the steam is what she needs ! also another solution ( the vet's solution ) is giving her a shot of calcium but the fact an egg is already spotted in the cavity this is not to reccomand because an other egg might come too . Altough small amounts of extra calcium did proove to improve your hens situation !!!

Update:
A few days ago, I opened up the nesting box in Stella's coop. Today she is sitting in it! I think that egg is coming! FYI, I put a plastic egg in in the nest box. I'm SO excited!!
