I have an approx 16 month old Lavender Orpington. She has been laying since last August. Yesterday I found her curled up under the water bucket in a corner. She is barely walking and her backside is pulsing. I read information from various forums here, and thought she might be egg bound so I gave her a warm bath (she was calm and seemed to be working to expel something after about 20-30 minutes.). Nothing came out so I tried to carefully feel in the vent with gloved and lubricated finger. I can't feel anything. Some watery poop and gas came out. I tried a second bath. No luck. I returned her to her coop for the night and found her back under the water bucket again this morning. She is bright eyed and her comb is red, but her backside is bulging and pulsing and she is barely moving. She won't eat or drink. I tried offering her a fresh cherry this morning usually a favorite treat. Please help. I need ideas and suggestions.

Is there any neurological or respiratory symptoms?
How do her eyes look like? Swelling? Watery?
What color is her poop?

She isn't pooping. When I checked the vent yellow watery stuff came out. Eyes are bright and normal. No goop. She seems to have labored breathing and there is a quiet sound when she breaths. Maybe very very slight congestion. No discharge from eyes, nose or ears.

Juse try some Florfenicol first.
Need more symptoms to get a diagnosis. It will be helpful if you can upload some pics.

Thank you for your reply. Sadly she passed away while I was at work. The whole family is very very sad. I wished I could have done something that would have helped her. We feel a great loss.
