Sick hen round 2

Glad she's doing better.

No. Let's clarify the Safeguard for you.

For Roundworms only : dose at 0.23ml per pound of weight once then repeat in 10 days.

For other types of worms, including Roundworms, but excluding Tapeworms:
dose at 0.23ml per pound of weight once a day for 5 days in a row.

Does that help?
Oh…thanks so much! Do you know the dosage for other wormers? Like one that is more straight forward, that kills all worms in 2 doses?

Valbazen (Albendazole) dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days. This will take care of most worms found in poultry except for tapeworms.

We dewormed the entire flock today, it was a hard task! We also had to wash one of our wyandottes because of some poop stuck to her feathers. All the other chickens were checked for vent issues and we found none. Sadly, we are almost out of deworming, so we will be purchasing a new brand soon. I wanted to update on the sick chicken. She has been doing much better, her crop empties every morning. I left her on grower feed (with some water) for a week extra just to be safe. About 3-4 days ago, we found out she just started laying again. Her eggs have been sort of odd (oval shaped), but really not too bad.
