I have a 4 year old hen, I noticed about a week ago that she was not as active as usual. A few days later she was just laying with her head on the ground, lots of feces on her tail feathers. I thought maybe her rear end was clogged up, it was not. I brought her inside the house, she continues to have yellow, green, runny poop, she is not eating and I have to force water in her. She is unable to stand up, just lays there sleeping. Any suggestions on what may be her illness, and/or treatment. I checked to make sure that she wasn't egg bound, and I did not feel anything. Thanks for any input.

Thank you and unfortunately no. I didn't think she would still be with us this morning, but she's still here. I really don't want to put her down, but I don't want her to suffer either. With her not eating, I know that's definitely not a good sign.

So sorry to read about your hen, I'm no expert but unfortunately, in my experience, once the green runny poop starts, not a lot can be done. I had a Sussex pass away after 3 days once the green poop began, she had egg peritonitis.I did try to syringe water and mulched scrambled egg into my ill hen but I was too late. Fingers crossed and I hope there's a happy ending.

Thank you Rudies Roost, I am thinking the same thing. I almost lost her over the winter, she got too cold, but I was able to baby her enough to get her back.
