Sick hen

Hello everyone, I have about 40 hens and one of them was always laying down. I grabbed her to see what was wrong and I found her lower side swallowed. I butchered her and found some balls of something that looks yellow and in layers. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Looks like a lash egg to me. Hen salpingitis - you did her a favor by culling.

Hello Eggcessive,

I had one of them last year. That happens because she must be old and her egg canal is weak and it brakes. The yolks start to come down and stay all on a ball. You did good on butchering her.
