For the past few days, one of my 10 month old barred rock hens has been standing around not doing much, all puffed up. She will still pick at food, but doesn't forage outside and just stands there. I'm new at chicken keeping (this was our first winter), but I'm guessing could be coccidia? Sort of seems that way after doing some reading.
I live in Ontario Canada - any idea what is available here to treat with? I feel awful for her!

Also, had she been drinking water? Dehydration is a serious thing in chickens, and if she isn't drinking it will only make things worse.
I'm so sorry about her! I hope she gets better. I just went through five chicks dying within one week (all for different reasons), so worry and hope are fresh in my mind. Keep us updated, and hopefully we can help!

Check her for lice. You can simply do so by holding her securely upside down and spread her feathers out of the way until you can see her skin. If you see tiny little specks running to and fro, she has lice. Also, if you see white dots clumped around the shaft of her feathers, that means she has lice as well, for these are nits. If she has them, you can buy a chemical powder to remove them in minutes or a natural powder to add into a dust bathing spot. Lice can really run a chicken down, so good luck and hope she gets better!

Ok thanks. I will go out and take a pic in a bit (just cooking dinner now), and check for lice while I’m out there. Her comb has frostbite on it

Ok so no blood in poop. No mites that I can see. She is eating and drinking.

well thats good if she has no lice. Her droppings look normal. Might just be the cold. Some of my chickens also had frostbite on their combs and are sometimes fluffed up. Maybe install a heat light or some electric heat source in your coop. Good luck!
