I asked and she apparently will sometimes sort of lift her head up and hold her beak open and sometimes make wailing sounds. I’m probably going over there this evening and will take a look at her as well as get some pictures thenDoes your friend notice if the chicken is sneezing, wheezing? no, no the questions are good! Trying to narrow it down. Also I’m not sure. I suggested isolating the chicken a little while ago but maybe I will do so againForgive all the questions, I'm just trying to help narrow it down. If the chickens are not vaccinated, it could be Merek's disease. If the stool is runny/bloody it could be coccidiosis. Could also be worms. Chickens have so many problems it's almost sickening. Your friend may want to isolate the chicken from the others to be on the safe side and perhaps do a thorough cleaning of the coop, waterer and feeder.
Alright I’ll do that when I have the chanceIf the chicken is wailing like that, that probably means she doesn't feel good and could be in pain. Also, need to feel her crop, and find out what her poo is like.
I’m not sure where the nearest vet is. But my mom’s condition on taking her in and caring for her is that she can’t be involved in anything like going to the vet and stuff and I don’t have the money so... you guys are her only hope at this point hahaAww, poor baby. She does appear to be in bad shape. Is there no vet nearby that could see her? If she has been weak like that for awhile, she could've been pecked at by the others. (chickens are mean!)
