Sick hen(?)

I don’t know if it makes a difference but she’s been sick for about a week now
It does I suppose. But it sounds like she was not getting care?
You are doing what you can. Keep trying to get fluids into and see how it goes.

Good morning,

How is your baby? I hope you see improvement. Respiratory sounds like it is stabilizing. The issue you have is the neck injury, feeding and such. How is that? And there is a possibility that she is keeping head hidden from attacks. May take a few days for her to realize she isn’t in danger anymore. Keep up the good work!

She seems like she’s doing a little better. Definitely doing a bit more lively like making sounds and moving and stuff. Last night she did turn around all by her self and (somehow) got her head into the water dish and drank all by herself so that was encouraging. I think there might still be hope for her.

I thought it might have been something like that at first, but she seems really uncomfortable with her head being under her like that, like she keeps wiggling it back and forth- her neck is also very stiff, I felt along it and the bone is actually bent in the shape her head is in now

She’ll let me hold her head up like this but then her head rests very heavy on my finger. Not limp but like she’s pushing down on it

If her neck is still somewhat flexible does that mean it’s not paralyzed? (I’ve never seen a chicken that’s paralyzed before so I don’t know) also she can move her feet but just doesn’t walk

This is what her back looks like with her feather pushes away- is that just from getting pecked by the other hens?

Were you able to get some poultry vitamins that have Vitamin E and B1? Poultry Cell or Poultry Nutri-Drench would be good to use. If you can't get those, you can use human vitamins. 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex.
The vitamin suggestion is just not to give her a boost, the E, B1 are to see if they will help her neck too.
It's very hard to know if she is suffering from poor care or if she is having neurological symptoms as well. Vitamin therapy is about the only thing you can try unless you can see a vet.

The green in the poop is likely because she had not eaten in several days. The yellow colored urates are concerning, but lets hope that improves as she gets stronger.

I would give her chick starter as her main source of nutrition. You can give her a little egg as a treat.

Can she see o.k.? Is she able to open her eyes?

The feather loss/damage looks like it's from the others pecking at her. She's got some new growth coming in. If there are no weeping or pus filled wounds, I think she will be fine with that.
