Sick hen

Help! We just came through 1degree temps and bel ou w freezing for over a week. I put heat lamps, feed and water in their coops. Bit I have a hen down. She is alert but she won't move. I started her on penicillin yesterday and I am giving her feed and water.
Any ideas??

It may be hypothermia. It can mimic an illness. Treat her with warm sugar water ever hour. And warm her quickly by wrapping her in warm towels warmed in the dryer. Or you can take a hair blow dryer, turn her on her back and blow warm air on her abdominal area and under her wing pits where there is maximum blood flow to warm her quickly.

Then keep her inside under observation for a couple of days, continuing the sugar water until her strength returns.
