Sick hen

I’m new to the chicken world and wondering if anyone can give me insight on what may be wrong. She’s 3 months old and has a coop but free ranges during the day. There is an old dog house under the porch or the house with old cedar bedding in it and they like to get in it so I’m wondering if this could be linked to her illness. She sounds raspy when she makes noise and she’s coughing or sneezing I can’t tell which. The main concern is the open mouth breathing. Can anyone give me an insight?

Ceder is a known respiratory irritant in the small animal and bird industry. I would get rid of the cedar immediately since it probably also has some mold spores causing additional irritation... in a small, enclosed area where they'd be kicking up a lot of dust, you'd have many opportunities for respiratory infections to kick in. Block off the doghouse if you can't clean it out and make sure they've got a lot of good, fresh air to prevent further irritation.
Hopefully an expert can jump in on treating.....

I shoveled out all the cedar that I could and tore down the whole dog house. There is some flakes of course in the dirt I can’t get out. I have given her a penicillin injection and also started her on breathing treatments. Shes doing some better than yesterday.

That's good. Make sure to finish the full course of antibiotics: 3-5 days of injections.
Flakes in the dirt shouldn't affect them too much at this point since you've removed the bulk of the issue.

We are now 2 weeks in dealing with this illness. Symptoms started on 5/26. 5 days of Tylan injections were administered. I apply VetRX twice daily. She has a great appetite and very spunky. She sneezes and has open mouth breathing 24/7. Still no sounds of wheezing or rattling associated with breathing and no drainage or bubbles. How likely is it that this isn't Aspergillosis? Would it be safe to put her back out with the others without an illness spreading.
