Hey everyone, I posted last week about my sick barred rock hen. Shes about a year and a half old. Last Wednesday I found her in the floor of the coop unable to walk but trying to move around. She had some tracheal tales. I brought her inside and did an Epsom salt soak and gave her a dose of PND and some scrambled egg. She has neither improved or declined. Her tracheal rales have improved but she is still lame. She is in isolation in our brooder but tries to move very little and it’s hardly eating and drinking even if we dip her beak into the electrolyte solution. At this point what do we do for her? She’s covered in green diarrhea everyday despite being cleaned up. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated!
Did you give her Calcium as suggested in your other thread?

Photos of her standing and her poop?

Wyorp Rock, I had the mod combine the 2 threads. How old is she exactly? Is there any swelling under her vent that might be fluid or internal laying? I posted on your previous thread. It is kind of good to continue on the same thread on the hen, so we all know which questions have been asked and answered. If you can lift her to a standing position, will she move her legs or try to walk at all? The calcium plus vitamin D can be given once a day for up to 7 days, in case she is having shell problems or trouble laying. If she is under a year, sometimes Mareks can affect the legs. Injuries or internal infections can also. I would mix up a little mushy wet chicken feed plus some soft egg, and hold it up to her beak 2-3 times a day to try and keep her eating. What state are you in? If you lose her, I really think that getting a necropsy would help you figure out what was going on. This is a list of state vets who will perform a necropsy:

Thank you, I apologize. I will just comment under the original post next time. I have continued with the vitamins and soft food/egg. As of today she is much improved and standing and walking. She is weak is still not quite ready to be reintroduced to the flock. I have let her mingle with them a little bit and now concerned for bullies when we let her out of the chicken hospital
