I have a 3 y/o RIR (?) age could be more or less she is a rescue
I have had her for 4 weeks no issues - she was given to a guy who has peacocks and banty's he does not have standards so he gave her to me -
today she was in the nest box and got up no egg - had a prolapse - she is now gasping for air when she breaths

Could it be gape worms or something infectious - no other symptoms ?
she is now isolated in the basement in dog crate - i have to treat for prolapse and something else now-
she is under a red light - will that do for the prolapse ?

edited to make more sense

She must be offered a shallow belly bath in warm water for an hour, supervised and dried after and during which you can gently assist her in replacing the prolapse back in position. Use regular Prep H or vaseline to assist, being sure no pieces of egg are inside.

Important the membranes be kept moist and gently pushed back asap.
Very difficult emergency situation, act fast. Latex gloves if you have them. Check for any signs of infection, including smell.
