Good morning everyone.

We purchased three brown shavers about three weeks ago. Two are fine, but...

One wasn't the best when we unloaded her, but after a warm bath and lots of fluid she gradually came right and has been eating and laying (strange shaped eggs), normally for a couple of weeks.

Yesterday we noticed she could hardly walk and was favoring one leg. This morning she is just collapsing and is unable to walk much at all.

She appears to have laid an egg this morning, but it was misshapen and had a very thin shell.

Not sure what to do to help her - any help gratefully received.

Have a lovely day everyone - I'm in New Zealand and of course it's summer here. The weather is beautiful, clear skies and HOT!

Welcome to BYC! You could try making sure she's properly hydrated and maybe give her some oral calcium? The amount of calcium I give is ~100mg per kg.

Of course do a thorough exam and rule out injury to the leg. Was she vaccinated for Marek's? What does her poop look like?
