Sick Indian Runner Duck

Poly Tonine A Complex; vitamins for chicks, layers, broilers and turkeys. I'm not sure if they have any of that in the states, but in Canada its a vitamin enhancer.
I've given my duck some of this, electrolyte solution. As well-he's eating! He's inside again tonight, getting a little aggressive but I'm babying the heck out of him.
Doesn't stand real well, not walking a good distance but he ran away when I went out to catch him. His breathing is a little raspy, like a child's cold would sound.
I'm pretty positive about his well being; hoping he foes end up getting more on his feet soon.

I hope sick duck is not so sick today. I would avoid adding the poly tonine to the electrolyte water. Keeping it separate would ensure that you can observe how much of the poly tonine she gets. It is infused w 2 different antibiotics, so you do have to monitor it. I would have 2 water supply dishes and alternate - dosing the poly toning 3 x a day to ensure consumption, but not overload the kidneys. The rapid breathing is usually to blow off acidity in the body, so it is important to have the rapid breathing in order not to upset the acid-base balance of the body. Note: the BM's will be extra soft whenever electrolytes are being used. If you feel she needs fresh air, I would be holding her for about 3-5 min outside, otherwise she needs to be in the house until the breathing normalizes.

.. George is doing a lot better today, compared to Sunday morning's adventure.
He still isn't able to get a good footing underneath him. Anytime we go into the pen to check on him he gets up to run away, takes a few steps and sits. Just can't get his footing or legs underneath him?? Its just like he stumbles and slips/trips all over. I'm not even sure what this would mean?? His legs aren't broke, his feet don't have anything in them, and I can't see anything in his feet, legs or joints that would be bothering him. He is standing a lot more today so I'm (praying) that with a couple more days he'll be getting back up and walking in no time.
He's eating and he drank the whole electrolyte water last night.

Just not sure if he's eating his real duck food (he ate most of the rice and peas that I gave him last night. Yes, they were cooked and a little watery for him). He's pooping and peeing, so that's not an issue.

Thanks for the support and advice on this @MommaHenn !! Definitely helps calm myself!

Always glad to hear about improvement! Great job! Keep up the electrolytes and reduce the amount that you are giving him so it is about 3/4 of yesterday's dose. The "lazy feet' are most likely due to lack of energy and good, strong muscle control. He is still in recovery, so I wouldn't expect him to walk normally until about 7-10 days. It's kind of like me wondering why you're not running around town 3 days after having the flu.

Repeat the rice and peas for today and make sure that the regular feed is available to him moistened with warm water.

Keep us posted!

George is doing A LOT better this afternoon/tonight. Up and moving around, actually walking too. He's had electrolyte water all day, and eating regular food along with grass (and I assume bugs too). He is outside, had nice beautiful weather today +26. He's happy to be back with his duck mates Penelope and Mack.

Will be keeping a close eye on him still of course, but he's improved immensely since Sunday. One happy camper on this end!!
