Just to update - she got better for a while and started going downhill again last week. Her comb turned purple and she was very lethargic again with a poopy tush. She was also dripping egg yolk onto the poop board. Oddly enough she was still eating. I made the decision to put her down. I did a bit of a necropsy, just enough to know that she was in fact an internal layer. The oviduct was filled to the brim with that cooked egg material. I did not dissect enough to see if it had backed up all the way into the abdomen but I got quite a bit out of just the oviduct. I felt horrible, but she was definitely miserable, and I know that the future for a hen that young that's already internal laying isn't too good.
