Need some advice...One of my keets (6 weeks old) was sitting in the bottom of the coop all alone last night in a little ball. I took it out and put it in a tote with a light, food, electrolyte enhanced water and a towel to sleep on. Very lethargic last night. More active today and ate a few mealworms and crickets. Should I put another keet in the tote to keep it company? I know they're social creatures and feel bad that the little one is all alone. I tried putting her/him back into the big coop earlier today but it just hunkered down and didn't really show interest in running around yet. Put it back in the tote. First time keet owner and not sure what to do. Thanks!

I think putting one or two in with the little guy is a good idea. You're right, they don't like to be alone. It might give him time to perk up and then you can put them all back in together.

Thanks. I actually have a mirror on the outside of their run facing in. They really do like themselves a lot!

Update on the sick little keet. It got thru the first night tho I really didn't think it would. Perked up some the next day and was interested in eating baby crickets. A little later in the day I offered mealworms and a few more crickets. I knew we were on the right track. I put a little buddy in the tote with him/her over night and by this morning they were both crazy to get out of there. He/She has been back in the group since this morning and doing so well I can't tell by looking at them which one was so desperately ill. Thanks for all the good thoughts!

Excellent outcome. I'm happy for you and the keets. I'll have to remember to get baby crickets in a feeding emergency. What a good idea, and I never would have thought of that.
