I doubt very much that a lot of people on this forum have a great deal of disposable income....I sure don't. However, I believe that if you are taking on an animal, you're responsible for that animal's health.Good idea i bet she loved that! Its all frozen here no nightcrawlers till spring
No more green poop
And as far as vets its the money, 120$ just for the 15 minut visit then up from there
A duck is not a proper outlet for disposable income when you could buy food for someone hungry or food for your own table
I have lots of pets and they are all fed and sheltered top notch, But theres a limit on everything
Hes still being tube fed and wont eat his feed!
Iam going to try and new feed tomorow anything to get him eating
Finance a check up on a duck?I doubt very much that a lot of people on this forum have a great deal of disposable income....I sure don't. However, I believe that if you are taking on an animal, you're responsible for that animal's health.
I believe that if you have or can find a reputable vet, they will work with you on costs and/or payment plans. No reputable vet is going to let an animal suffer, just because you have limited means.
By the way, Baytril certainly does not cover all the ills for ducks. A culture would be the best way to determine what kind of infection your duck has, and a vet would provide the correct antibiotic/treatment.
My other suggestion to you, if you're adamant about NOT going to a vet is to get in touch with a rescue shelter. They may be able to provide some positive direction for you.
So you’ve made your decision.Finance a check up on a duck?
And does your responsability to your duck outway your responsibility to your family?
We sit at the dining table and share a can of beans because the duck needed 500$ of vet work because he didnt like the new food i got him
Dear scotiabank
Iam realy sorry but this month i dont have my outrageously high mortage payment because my duck had a green poop and his belly is sore. I had to take it out on finance and put half on my visa and i plan on paying that soon too. Hope you dont mind!

Give a sick duck to a shelter that doesnt exist here because nova scotia is a farming province and a duck is a farm animal not a domestic pet and so department of fisheries and ocean takes it. A truck shows up, guy thinks your an idiot, Takes your duck to the office and then sends it to department of natural resources. Its been in a box for a day or two its covered in poop and thirsty and is just a duck in a box to them. hes scared
Then they put it down and throw it in the scrap bin that they donate to the wildlife zoo every week and a coyote that lives in captivity gets to eat a sick dead duck
Or i keep my duck, Take care of it the same way people did for hundreds of years without the internet, And if it gets sooo bad that he will not make it at all i get to put it down myself and dig a little hole for it, feel a little bad for it because he was soo cute. Nicely tuck him in and end the exhistence of nibbler the duck but leave the duck with atleast the smalled amount of pride and take solice in the fact that he spent his time in comfort at his home with his companions he lived his entire life with.
And i get the sad satisfaction of making another hard decision but handling it, helping me in some small way prepare for much harder times and decisions knowing that iam the entire familys hard decison maker in a world of sissies and goodie goodies

You see by adding the last part your making it your buisnessSo you’ve made your decision.
That’s your business not mine.
I think people should think twice about acquiring animals they cannot afford to care for.
Ditto for children and lifestyle choices, and the decision to take on a “ ridiculously high mortgage “.
I can't see the video
