Sick or Not

My chickens are molting right now. They look bad but still healthy. I have one she eats and does everything normal but this morning while watching her eat watermelon I kept hearing this bubbling sound for lack of a better word. I have separated her and wondering what I should give her. Like I said she is in molt but acting like usual. Nothings coming out of her nose. Wondering if she might be getting some kinda of respiratory illness. I won’t take her to vet. Expensive and it takes a good 10 days before we get the results. I give them vitamins, fruit, meal worms, cracked corn. Suggestion please.

Hi there, was it just during the watermelon and is she still doing it? What is their feed? cut out the extras for awhile, especially the corn and meal worms, very fatty, it takes away from them eating enough of their formulated feed.

Ok I’ll cut out the corn and mealworms for a while. We give them Kalmbach brand 17% protein layer hen pellets. I’ll go out and see if she is still making noises. Thank you
