Sick Pea Chick Died - Going to Vet School For Necropsy - Will Post Results

If the baby is getting better i would not add another med, to much meds can overload a bird with chemicals and with sulmet you have already gotten rid of the bad things in the gut but you have also gotten rid of the good gut floral the baby need to stay healthy.

Was the baby diagnosed by a vet? sorry i did not read it if it was.

We posted at the same time... about .1ml/dose 3x a day.  (That's 'point one', not 1 ml)

Gotcha'. ;) Thank you VERY much. I hope to see improvement with the poo. I will take pics of poo from today and tonight and in the morning and post with weight from today and other details. Boy, I am mentally exhausted from all of this thinking and wondering and worrying. But it's what we do to save our beloved babies.

Thank goodness for everyone's input and suggestions. It is much appreciated. The patient thanks you as well. :)

No, she was not diagnosed. I tried to call the vet but he had left the office because he was not feeling well. They do not know when he will come back. There are no other avian vets around. This vet is 1 1/2 hours away.

The person that checked on the patient today said that she still has watery poo. So, that is not good. It could be that I was not giving the correct dosage. LSU pharmacy said that she needs 8 oz of the medicated water. I was only giving 6 cc's each time. I was far from the recommended dosage. That could be it and then again, I really don't know.

Here are updated weights on mine

Black 3lb 7.45oz, Orange 3lb 2.09 oz, Blue 2lb 3.06 oz. Hatched 7-23, 7-25, and 8-5.
