Sick Pea Chick Died - Going to Vet School For Necropsy - Will Post Results

What do you think, casportpony... maybe mix some cayenne with the feed or water?  Or could that interfere with the cocci meds?

I honestly have no clue, but one could do a search on sulpha antibiotics in human form (sulmet is a food animal antibiotic) to see if there are any foods or other drugs to avoid.

Casportpony, what is the weight in LBS of your pea who is almost the same age as mine? My pea was born July 12.

My lone baby pea got watered yesterday when I was taking pics (about 24 hours ago) I just went up and checked and the quart waterer was empty. Some may have got spilled, but the litter is damp in that area (not soaked). Normally about half of the water disappears in a day so I would say it probably goes through 2 cups in a day and it's 3.5 weeks old. I only changed the litter once in three weeks, the last time was about two weeks ago so if a lot was spilling I would expect soaked shavings (I cover them with paper towels to keep the litter out of the food and water).

Put the water in something that you can measure. If nothing else, measure the water going in and measure how much you are dumping when you change it.

Going by the chart, the one hatched on 7/23 is 1522 grams which would be 3lb 5.68 oz if I am reading that right...

Ok, so I'm not totally losing my mind. Mine pea is not as big. So the scale is right when it reads (lbs). Thank you.

I can try but this pea is so jumpy. I filled her bowl up and placed it in the bathroom. She had turned it over. :/

I will have to make sure the container cannot be tipped over. I may have to put her outside in a stall and rig something up.
