Sick Peahen

All the vets listed are 75 miles from me or further, Tractor Supply is only 15 miles away. My first thought was eggbound, I had a Turkey hen die from being eggbound a few years ago and her poo was identical to my peahens. But I'm just not sure what's going on and for the symptoms to start yesterday and her being this bad off today whatever it is if I dont do something today I'm pretty sure I will lose her by tomarrow. She had a rough start at life because when I bought her as a chick almost 5 years ago she was very sick and I didnt know but with the help from my feathered friends on BYC we were able to get her well. I'm hoping I can do that again, it would be devastating to me to lose her. Waiting on my husband to get home hopefully befor the vet closes for the weekend!

I told shay1bear the best thing would be to get her to a vet. Whatever is ailing her is *very* serious and not likely something that can be treated at home.

Okay thank you, I didn't know what else to do because I dont have peacocks anymore so I have no knowledge on them

SHES EATING!!! Scrambled eggs mixed with white rice! That gives me just a tiny bit of hope! We are going to make the trip to the vet in the city. Hoping to make it befor they close for the weekend!

Please do get her to the vet. Hopefully they can figure out what's ailing her. Eating is a good sign, but I will feel so much better if you can get her seen today.

You and I fought hard to get her well as a chick and shes been worth every minute of it. I honestly dont think she would be alive today if it wasn't for your help. I sure appreciate you and have for years now=) I'm hoping she will pull through. A friend of mine thinks shes egg bound but my hens haven't been laying for the last week or so, and befor that I'd find a egg every few days and I'm not sure if Little Eagle was the one laying or not. I will keep you posted on what I find out!

my husband got home and we didnt make it to okc in time so I'm hoping Monday morning they can get her in asap, shes standing, eating and drinking on her own right now so theirs some hope she will be okay...
