You mean.... yawn?My chickens all do this...is it a problem?
You mean.... yawn?
Honestly though if it's all the time there might be a problem with breathing, but with them still being too young to have comb and wattle development, I can't see any blueness. It could be nothing, it could be something. How often are they doing it?
Sounds like they're yawning. Could be something's keeping them up through the night. Have you noticed any predator tracks around the coop?About 1-3 times a day some of them do it more, some less, but it somewhat stays in that category
No, but there has been some hawks around, but that was weeks agoSounds like they're yawning. Could be something's keeping them up through the night. Have you noticed any predator tracks around the coop?
And we did see this....No, but there has been some hawks around, but that was weeks ago

Its been a year and the hens are still fine...I assume it was just yawning. My girls do not seem to be choking when they do it.Some of my birds do this too. I don't think it's a yawn because they act like they are choking. No noise no particular distress. Some times they will lower the head and rise up with that open mouth gesture. It's almost like a dry heave in a way. But they've been doing in now for over a year and seem fine. IDK really.
