Sick Production RIR - Growth on neck?

We adopted a 16 week old RIR and noticed she wasn't acting normal. We dismissed it as a result of harassment by the previous owner's dog. She didn't seem to straighten up after we brought her home. She sits inside her coop (we have her quarantined) most of the day and when she comes out she seems listless. He feathers are out of sorts and her face looks damp. We thought maybe she was having a hard time with her beak (somebody trimmed it somewhere along the line). My wife and I finally got around to examining her closely and she has what appears to be a swollen blister on top of her neck/between her wings. The feathers in the area are either missing or not growing normally. Her eyes are also very watery. We are considering lancing it but I have no idea what it is or what is causing it. Is it even something treatable? Is the blister/ swollen neck just a symptom of something un-treatable and terminal?

And I think she has some pretty nasty diarrhea.

Mycoplasma meleagridis? This is the only thing I can find that produces boils.

That type of mycoplasma is mostly in turkeys, although it has been isolated in chickens living near turkey farms. Can you post a picture of this lesion on her neck? There are a lot of cysts, tumors, and abscess pictures on different threads. Has she had a Mareks vaccine? Mareks can cause lymphomas all over the body, inside and out. Watery eyes can be an early symptom of mycoplasma or other respiratory diseases, but testing would be the only way to know for sure. Is there any crust around the eyes or nasal drainage? Any swelling of eyelids or face? Diarrhea can be a symptom of worms, vent gleet, and even coccidosis at her age.

Desparately seeking help......I have a baby chick who is approximately 5 weeks old. She/he is not gaining any weight compared to the others. Also, there seems to be a tumor/nodule on the breast area. What do I do? Any treatment? We have a total of 10 chicks. Do I need to separate them from her/him?

Sad times at our house........

If you haven't already I would separate her. Post this on the main sick/injured forum so more people will see it. In the little bit of reading I did for my bird all I really found that causes tumors is Marek's disease.

5 week old chicks would not show signs of Mareks disease with a tumor. Could your chick have had an impacted crop? The crop is on the chick's right upper chest just below the neck. At 5 weeks they should be receiving chick sized grit to help them digest grass and any other foods that are not chick crumbles. If they get treats or eat grass they can get a crop impaction which will keep them from getting nourishment. Sorry for your loss.
