I bought 2 buff Cochin pullets a week ago and my brother was "taking care" of them for me. (We are moving) and he said he forgot about them. They had no food, no water, and they got rained on - soaked - many days in a row. One of my pullets just does. But I want to know what killed her.

Her symptoms were she was cold to the touch, stiff, eyes closed, wouldn't move, and when I picked her up water poured from her nostrils and beak.

I tried to warm her up but she died anyway.

Anything I could have done? I am so angry with my brother I can't express it.

It was most likely just the whole combo. Heat waves with no water makes severe dehydration, no food makes starvation, and cold rain may have may her go into shock or chilled her to the bone, weakening her immune system with no nutrients to fend off illnesses. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope your brother falls face-first into a cowpatty.
