Sick quail

So I had a quail a while ago and it was a pet we had it for a little under a year given to us by a breeder. He was keep on a solid floor where we replaced his bedding daily and was allowed access outdoors weather permitting. One day he was just in his box laying and wouldnt get up at all he unfortunately died later that same day what could have been the cause he was cortunix stubble quail btw. Thanks Quailsk

Possibly as he was lying down in the morning so he could have done that during the night however his box wasnt that high that he could bonk it that much it was only about a foot high or so but maybe he managed to hit it hard... Thanks Quailsk
