Sick Rabbit Any Ideas?

Glad to hear your bunny is feeling better. Rabbit teeth grown continuously, and if they are overgrown, a rabbit can starve to death. You might want to check them and make sure they are a manageable size. Good luck!

Now thats a good post! If your rabbit has malocclusion it may be causing the problem. It becomes painful for the to eat so they stop eating. A person can only check the front teeth, a vet needs to check the back and sedation is usually required.

Our 7 month old (at the time) was taken in to be spayed and I had the vet check her teeth to make sure they were okay. She already had molar spurs at that age and they had to be filed down. She eats all sorts of roughage but it will be a lifetime thing for her as it was genetic in her case.

I had a house rabbit for 8 years. When he was 7, I noticed he stopped eating and pooping, and would just lie down in a corner, and not raise his head. It was very frightening for us to see and we didn't know what was wrong with him. His teeth were fine. The vet suggested that we get papaya enzymes and crumble one up in a wee bit of water and feed this to him with a dropped. Incredibly, it worked! He didn't want to swallow anything but we kept at it and got that papaya enzyme into him. Apparently, he had been eating drywall in the basement and we didn't know it! It had formed a clump of cement like blockage in his intestine. The enzyme blasted it away, and within 24 hours he was pooping again, and started eating the next day. From then on, we gave him a papaya enzyme every day, sprinkled on his banana pieces. He loved it and didn't get sick again.

Papaya and FRESH pineapple are great for blockages and to aid in digestion in general. My bunns and even my dogs eat pinneapple weekly (oh and me too).
