your head.... ~(*.*)~

This is Phoenix!! My Rhoad island red. from the day I got her ( 5 weeks ago ish) she has shown signs of illness. Her eyes go very red (well, around the eye ball) and little clear bubbles are in the corner of her eye. I have posted about this 3+ times around and turns out she did have a sickness. it was a very long name and I cant remember what it was called :/ (sorry) After giving her anti biotic for a week she got much better but is now getting sick again. (she is back on the anti biotic again) One of my main concerns is how red her eyes seem to get. How red or what colour is normal for this breed? Here are some photos on how red they can get.......

In the third one if u look close u can see the bubbles.... in the front of her eye right on the edge.

The redness goes on and off but as fare as I know it is usually red. And most of her face is pale usually too, so the red around her eyes really stand out and seem to be very very bright red, the photos are horrible (i'm sorry) But is the red part normal?? Should I be worried??

I don't now know what might be wrong. But Martha has set you on a good path...the emergency section here of BYC. Post these pics and the same wording and I hope you can get her healed up soon!!

No all that redness- looks like swelling isn't normal. Have you checked her for mites and lice? Especially around her face? Does she scratch that area often. CRD I'm not certain about but think it is a respiratory disease that can't be eliminated. I think survivors shed the disease as long as they live. Put CRD in the searchbox.

now that u mention it........ she does scratch a fare bit........ if u look really really close there a tiny white dots where it is red. what kind of mites COULD it be? and how can I treat them?
