Hey everyone I have a sick rooster and someone told me it could be mareks which is really scary. I have spent the day researching and have reached out to my vet but no reply yet. Can anyone shine some light.
background: I came home oct 27 and my rooster was somehow out of my fenced area. It’s a 4 foot fence but not covered. The next day his one wing was hanging down so I assumed he got injured and after watching many videos attempted to help him by bandaging his wing and giving him electrolytes for the stress. Fast forward to a few days ago and all of a sudden he can’t stand very well so I brought him inside. Once again felt for anything broken and checked his foot for bumble foot as it seemed to be bothering him. I bathed him in Epsom salts and kept him separate for the whole weekend. unfortunately he has shown no improvement. He eats and drinks but can’t walk and a few times today we have found him on his side.
please help!! Could he have mareks? What other possibilities are there. I just need some advice while I wait on the vet as I’ve been waiting all day and my heart is so heavy for my tiny flock.
he is eating and drinking and his poop looks good. He is also crowing still.
