sick rooster

Looking for advice on how to best deal with an apparent fungal infection in a rooster. He can't crow, has a congested sound, and appears to be weakening as he can only walk short distances. I have him in a sick pen with water and feed but I am very concerned. He was in an egg wagon restricted range set up but some how got sick.

If he's not drinking and eating you will need to tube feed him.

Accoriding to this link: http://avianmedicine.net/content/uploads/2013/03/18.pdf , the fluconazole dose is 2 - 5mg per kg once a day for 7 days.

Might be best to take him to a vet.

I had a fungal infection this winter. Could be more serious, not sure. What do you think, Kathy?

I'll try the fluconazole dosage you suggested.

He seems to be coming around a bit after tube administration of boiled and cooled chicken feed and the required dosage of fluconazole. I'll continue with the daily care. Praying he recovers. Thanks again, Kathy.
