Sick rooster

It sounds like you are dealing with a chronic respiratory disease in your flock. Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) or coyrza are the two that usually cause facial swelling. Coryza stinks, and causes thick nasal secretions and more severe symptoms. Tylan or tylosin, or Denagard ordered online or from a vet will treat MG. Coryza may be treated with sulfa drugs. These diseases make carriers of the whole flock, and you can eventually get it out of the flock when these birds are all gone. Then wait several weeks to get new healthy chicks, perhaps from a hatchery.

I have not seen any nasal discharge yet but he did have some goey liquid in his mouth the first day, that seems to have cleared up now though.
He's been on the only respiratory antibiotics I could find at the feed store but so far it hasn't seemed to help, is the head twisting to the side normal for MG or Coyrza?

It's only three roosters father and two sons whose faces puff up every time it get's too dusty in the coop at night I put peppermint essential oil on their hackles and the puffiness is almost always gone by morning.

A twisted neck (wry neck) can be a symptom in respiratory diseases, Mareks disease, head injuries, and with vitamin E deficiency. You can get tylosin or denagard (tiamulin) in Canada from a vet.

If he dies, send him in for necropsy to see what he has. We can only guess without that.

Based on what you find, treat accordingly. For now, keep him separate and if you want, treat with the tylan as suggested

So I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the rooster but last night I found one of my ducks dead, I let them out to free range for an hour and a half before dark and I found him under a pine tree flat on his back neck stretched out, he has no markings of an attack, his neck was not broken and no feathers where even out of place.

He was one of my healthiest ducks so I'm a little confused and hoping that it was a heart attack and not some strange illness that is going to start killing all my feather babies off.

RIP Colby:hit

poor Colby.. RIP. that made me sad.:hit
Yeah, I was not expecting it at all, his mate Fern is very upset and is standing next to the gate like she's waiting for him to come back, I'm hoping she survives since often ducks just waste away after their mate has died.:hit
