We got some turkeys last week that are about a week and a half old now. We have 6 and there is a small one in the group. The first week it was doing good, eating grass, and running around. A few days ago it started sleeping more and eating less. I assumed maybe the bigger ones kept waking it up since we had some chicks that had that problem and it had diahrea. Also the bigger ones would step on its back when it was laying down and try to fly out of the box. We seperated it and left it alone to rest. We also put an egg yolk in the cage. It quit eating completely and isn't drinking anything on its own. We have been dipping its beak. It can barely stay awake and is very skinny. I'm not sure what to do or why it got sick. All the others are doing great and trying to fly already. I even noticed a couple acting like they were big toms strutting around with their feathers puffed up. We have been feeding unmedicated started. The grass I've been feeding is organic and no plants that are harmful.

I don't know alot about turkeys..hopefully someone here will post for you..
but I think that turkeys need a slightly different diet..
others will correct me if I'm wrong..I think they need eggs for higher protein..

this chick might have cocci...

About 20 minutes after posting this I checked on the turkey and it had passed away. I'm going to keep a close watch on the others. So far they are still doing good and trying to fly.
