My turkey poult was fine last night but today it is laying around a lot and breathing heavily. Does anyone know what it is and what I can do to fix it? It just hatched two days ago

Hi :welcome

Sorry to hear you have sick poult :hugs I'm afarid I'm not a turkey person but do hatch chicks. The first few days after hatch are critical and are the time when any weaknesses will show. Has the poult been eating and drinking? Have you dipped the beak in the water so it knows where it is? Could it be too hot/cold? At 2 days it's yolk reserves that it absorbed prior to hatch will be diminishing and if it's not eating and drinking it could be becoming weak. As I said though I'm not a turkey person but please do drop by the turkey section of the forum for more help. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/20/turkeys

I hope you can get your poult well again soon :frow
