Hi there everyone.. I'm very concerned about my chicken. We were letting them free-range this afternoon and my fiance saw a hawk. This chicken in particular was hiding in the bushes and we could not get her to come out. He finally just went over and got her out and put all of the chickens in the coop to keep them safe. Well, when I got home from work this evening my chicken was not looking well. She had a droopy tail, and it looks like she's leaning to one side/standing lopsided if that makes sense. Holding 1 wing higher than the other. I was checking her out and found a spot on her back near her vent that was bloody. It was also leaking some sort of yellow discharge. Now I'm not sure if maybe the hawk tried to get her but either way she does not seem well. I brought her in and cleaned up her back end and put antibiotic oitment on the area though I don't see any gaping wounds. Advice Please?? What else can I do for her.. and another thing - she is drinking a TON of water. Any experienced chicken owners with advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm really worried about my little girl!
