One of my 12 week olds got a very puffy crop, lethargic and then died. Another is now lethargic and his vent was dirty so I washed him up and put him in a crate alone with vitamin water and scrambled eggs. Any ideas on what this might be? I initially thought capillary worms because my son thought he saw worms moving in the dead chicks crop but when I looked I didn't see any signs of that... now I'm stumped on how to treat...

Do you have a vet who could do a fecal test on some fresh droppings to look for coccidiosis or worms? Coccidiosis or worms can cause a slow crop, as well as a messy vent. If the bet is not possible, I would then do a 7 day treatment for possible coccicidiosis with Corid (amprollium) then a few days later, treat for worms with either Valbazen or a 5 day treatment of SafeGUARD Liquid Goat Wormer or the Equine Paste. Corid dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder in each gallon of water.

So you'd do corid first then safeguard? They did have cocci when they were around 6/7 weeks but I treated them and they've been fine since... but maybe they have been exposed to a different strain?

That is the order I would use, although some might use both simultaneously, since you don't know the exact cause. I would also do some research about crop problems.
