Siding for my chicken coop

I am in the process of building a chicken coop that has 3/4" Plywood walls. I want to add a more decorative siding over the plywood such as t-11 or something like that. Would that make the walls too thick as far as the trim work (when it comes time to add it)?

Also, I'm having a problem with my windows. They are old sash windows that I intend to put hinges on top and attach them to the siding. Should I put the windows in before I add the other siding?

I'm adding some pix. I tried whitewashing the wood and it was total disaster. It just flakes off.
Got the recipe from some guy on You tube that did it on his coop. Any suggestions??

I'm totally new at this....never built anything like this before and it is a challenge. My brain hurts every night when I go in.

You're over thinking. Time foir a cold beer and let it go for a day.
I have an idea for you to think about while you drink a cold one. This is not only cost effective but durable and easy to do. Trim it with wood in any pattern you like. I used dog eared fence boards as they are cheap treated wood and easy to cut to size and nail, screw or staple on. Vertical batton strips 3/4 to 1 1/2 " wide placed every 16" to 20" is common but the Dutch use patterns, shapes and animals. I used them to cover my wire hardware cloth seams and trimmed the nest box and coop for VA finished look. No need to paint as fence boards are treated and weather well. Stain them in a year or two if you feel the need. Take a look , nothing fancy but you can make it by adding a few more in a Dutch cross.

I guess I'm confused by your answer. Do the pictures represent what you described? If so, I think I am seeing vinyl or aluminum siding in one of the pictures. Am I?

My roost box is metal. It was free Orr it would have been plywood.
everything else is trimmed out. It would have looked much different without the trim.
