Thank you :) I would have loved to hatch some eggs myself but I just don't have the confidence to do so. Mabye if I had the money for that fancy incubator I would do it. I had a baby duck when I was a kid - Miss Bugaboo. Loved that bird..

Do I need to insulate my chicken coop? I’m using an existing shed, about 10x10”
My property is at an altitude of 2145 feet; my coop was an old 3 walled garage which I had transmorgrified into a coop with a fourth wall and roosts inside, etc. I do not insulate. But that's just me. I have a ton o' chickens which can create body heat, but I also have a LOT of ventilation in the coop. :idunno

I'm at 4700' and I don't insulate either. I have a small coop with lots of straw in it. I keep a thermometer in there to see how low it goes and the lowest so far was 20 degrees and it was below 10 degrees almost 0 degrees when it reached that low in my coop. Also, my flock is cold hardy and heat hardy too so that really helps me.
