Wow, three birthdays on the same day.....wonder what is the significance of June 8th?
We had a marvelous time on our date. We purchased $30 worth of dice (he loves D&D and plays every Sunday afternoon with a group of friends, led by one friend's dad.) Next, we went to his favorite restaurant, a local mom and pop BBQ place. I let him order for me. We had pulled pork sandwiches with fries and baked beans. We also split a piece of homemade lemon meringue pie. Finally, we went to see the new George Clooney, Bill Murray, Matt Damon movie "Monument Men." It was a pretty good, historically based, family friendly movie. He chose it for the WWII setting. The only other gifts he recieved were a $50 bill from his grandfather and a Zippo lighter which he loves. No, he does not smoke, he loves anything retro. During the movie, one of the characters pulled out a Zippo and opened it with the signature sound that it makes. I heard him chuckle beside me in the dark. I sure love that kid!
