*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Did it make his hair fall out?

No, the other end was impacted, or more correctly unimpacted.

Pshaw! rumors of moat feedings are just that. Why is it that no one has come to say that they were 'fed' to the denizens? Those who have left have done so of their own free will.

You should consider attending one of the moat picnics/barbecues - many have considered them to be 'once in a lifetime' experiences.

It may not have been "once in a lifetime," but I had an experience I didn't expect - I had to break into a horse stall. The horse in this stall is a clever beast; he likes to open the slide-bolt latch on his door and go wandering around the barn. To prevent such unauthorized egress, we installed a screw eye bolt that the latch fits around when the door is closed; snapping a lead rope on the screw eye keeps the latch from operating.

When I went to feed "Mo-dini" in the morning, the snap on the lead wouldn't operate. It isn't rusty, and it had worked perfectly the night before. I couldn't see anything, but apparently, our equine genius had tried to get out, and had slobbered on the snap, which had then frozen in the bitter cold. I had to use a hammer to force the snap to operate so I could get into the stall. Frozen pipes, frozen spigots, frozen water troughs - these are things I expect to have to deal with during cold snaps, but frozen horse spit just wasn't on the list. Until now.

Perhaps I should invite 'Mo-dini' to a moat picnic?

edited to add that, "It's all Alaskan's fault."
