*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Hey, she's my daughter. I told her today that Otis should have been euthanized long ago, and she agreed, "But , Dad, he's had a rough life at his other home."

So far, Otis has pooped in the laundry room and someone has managed to pee through their little 'pee pee pads'. Should have been smart enough to crate them when we went to the movies. Oh, and Jeter managed to get her crate opened somehow. She just jumps all over everything and eats anything that might be edible. Only three more days.

Home.. Under a heated blanket.

Ah... I will try to take photos today.

Kids are having problems milking Holly. Holly has a perfect udder, nice and firmly attached, cute small teats... She had been nursing 4 kids....

Mocha has a large pendulous udder, with teats like bananas, large enough that I eyed it for awhile before purchase wondering if it would sink down far enough to be a hazard.. Be stepped on, caught on stuff, etc. result in horrors of blood.

Well... Mocha is a dream and super easy for the kids to milk.

Holly, well...... -sigh-

Speaking of milking...

I bought a pretty little jersey cow today. Guy was kind enough to deliver her for me. Only a few slight problems...Terry was working, so it's just me and the guy. Guy is afraid of cows. Guy lets go of the lead rope as he is taking cow out of the trailer because she scared him. I grabbed the rope, and proceeded to be dragged all through the pasture, because that's my money running loose! The cow got tired of dragging me and decided she liked the look of the barn and walked on in. I learned two things today, never trust a man afraid of cows to hold a lead rope, and be thankful for my fat butt because that's all that kept that danged cow from running to Timbuktu.

Oooooooh!

Milk cow!

:drool

Who is milking her? Is she in milk?

Why I am! She's not in milk yet. I had a choice of three cows, two were in milk, she isn't. I chose her because I've got to go visit a friend with cancer soon, and she gives me a chance to do that before she calves. This is her second calf and she's been hand milked. She's also the prettiest of the three. And of course, if the whole milk thing doesn't work out, there's always mud skiing.
