Well, that was fun - not.

I just found out what happens when you don't poke enough holes in a spaghetti squash before you microwave it. Yep, it really can blow the door open when it explodes! What a mess!

Bet that got your attention. I always cut them in half before 'nuking' them - no 'blow ups' that way. I have on the other hand blown up baking potatoes.

Such happenings are a 'one time' occurrence.

Mine, and a few others'. DD hit the floor - the cat hit the ceiling. I wasn't where I could see the microwave when the detonation occurred, all I could see was a cloud of steam and pieces of squash shell on the floor. The funny thing is, Critter had just said, "It's gonna blow!" not 30 seconds before, but I have heard them hissing before, so I wasn't worried about it. I guess I should have been.

Most of the mess stayed in the microwave. I keep thinking I have it all cleaned up, but then I find another strand or two in some other spot . . . .

I put aluminum foil in the microwave I did not know that was bad and my mom blew up at least 5 eggs in the microwave

That really made me laugh. I can just picture the look on his face when his prophesy came true.

It's true, he doesn't often get a chance to say, "I told you so".

Though I imagine I've told you that we have a sort of long-running joke around here about things going "boom". I can't even remember how it started, but when someone tries something new, Critter often asks, "Will it go "boom?" So much so, the kids often say things like, "I'm going to (do something or other) - and no, Dad, it won't go "boom".

I expect I'm going to hear about dinner going "boom" for quite a while.

I am usually so confused about what people on this thread are talking about and what is a cookie presser (or something like that ) is it just like a thing that cuts out cookies from thr dough
