*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

The mini is better....she's driving me nuts right now!!

The weather man said we were only going to get 3 to 5 inches of snow today....well, I believe he was about 10 inches wrong! About a hour before dark, we had 14 inches and counting.... We have so much snow, it weighed down the top of my chicken run and put holes in it. I was out there for over an hour getting the snow off it. I finally had to come back in. I will finish in the morning. For now, I'm praying nothing gets in from the air (owl, hawk, whatever) and gets my babies. I have to seriously re-think how I have the roof of the chicken pen. Here's a pic I took about an hour after it started snowing...

this is looking inside the pen through a hole in the end...

a closer look. It was so heavy it was making the sides bow outward. I have the babies put up for the night but I'm going to have to get out early in the morning to get the snow off again. We have another 3 inches or so coming...

Sour, congrats on the milestone!!!

May you post many more!!! lol

1d3, good news about mini - if she's driving you nuts, she's feeling better. Bad news about the snow. Way back when, I raised ringnecks to make a couple of bucks. Many a night I spent out in the pens knocking snow off the tops. About the time I'd get finished - it was time to start all over again.

Preds shouldn't be out during the storm, but they will be hungry and hunting as soon as it stops. Good luck.

I'll be up bright and early in the morning to start work on it. Well, maybe not bright, but I will be out early!

If I was bright, I would have come up with some other way to put the roof over the run. But, this is my first venture with chickens so I'm learning! Problem is, I'm tired and getting sick again. YAY....not.

But I will get it done!!! Mini is doing much better. She has been playing and basically driving me insane with her shenanigans...

But I'm happy she's better. I hate to see her sick. Especially the way this bout of flu and bronchitis treated her.

Anyway, I'm headed out to do some more work in the snow...Y'all have a great night.

Good news on minidoodle!

We are on the warmer side of this mess, so we are getting inundated - but at least it's just rain. I'd hate to see how much snow it would make (DD is of a different opinion, of course

) We've had days in the 70's for much of the last week. Tomorrow, we get a reality check - forecast high of 47 degrees, low around 28. Yeah, it is still January, isn't it?

My daffoddils are poking up in the beds on the South side of the house. They are in for a big surprise.
